- FREEZE AT A GLANCE
- Syntax:
- [d:] [path] FREEZE
- Operation: After loading, FREEZE remains memory resident. It is
- activated by pressing Alt-NumLock, at which point the screen is blanked
- and program execution is suspended. The user then enters a password up
- to 64 characters in length, terminating it with Enter. The computer will
- remain frozen until the same password is entered or the machine is
- turned off and then on. A warm reboot (Ctrl-Alt-Del) is prevented. When
- the matching password is entered, however, the original screen display
- is restored and program execution is resumed.
- Note 1: In entering and reentering passwords, Alt- and Ctrl- key
- combinations are permitted. You can use the Backspace key to make
- corrections before hitting Enter, but the password is not visible on the
- display. Esc permits you to reenter the password.
- Note 2: FREEZE is normally loaded via your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
